3 Online Dating Profile Tips to Attract Quality Men
Women have the advantage when it comes to online dating. This doesn’t mean however women are off the hook in putting forth effort to draw men in.
Women Should Rock their Online Dating Profile Picture
We all know men are visual, so it is imperative that your online dating profile pictures are inviting to men. They should be clear, current (ideally taken in the past 3 months), and authentically look like you. Give them 3 great pictures; a head shot, mid body shot and a full body shot. Women who convey femininity as well as energy in their profile pictures tend to get noticed. You want to make sure that your online dating profile pictures send the marketing message you desire. Classy online dating profile pictures over trashy ones win if you are seeking a committed relationship.
Men Are Not Looking for a Harlequin Romance Novel
Your profile should NOT be a written as if it were a Harlequin romance novel nor should it be a laundry list of must haves or have-nots. Keep it short, engaging, and positive. Don’t be afraid to be playful. A great profile is less than 200 words. Online dating profiles that are between 150 to 180 words have the best results. Remember you are writing to men, they have an attention span of a gnat when it comes to online dating. You have a millisecond to grab their attention, so you need to make it count.
Women Should Seek Quality Not Quantity When Online Dating
One key to successful dating online is to understand that quality is more important than quantity. I have to reminder my private clients and my online students of this often. You shouldn’t have any issues having men contacting you if you follow the advice above, but if you want to increase the chances they are the type of men you are looking for, then you want to be very strategic in how you write your online dating profile. Take time upfront to know clearly who it is you are looking for. Then tailor your profile and pictures so they are attractive to that type of person. You may not receive as many responses, but the chances of your finding your match online increase dramatically when your profile is written to attract a specific type of person. Think of your online dating profile as the greatest marketing copy you will ever have to write.
